Kingston University Skydiving
“Jump out of a perfectly good airplane? Me? You must be mad!”
If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard that…
Many people think of their first jump as “the end”. Oh no, once you’re in, there’s no going back. You’ve joined an elite group of individuals who share just one thing in common:
They understand why birds sing.
Where do I start?
You should e-mail us at skydiving@kingston.ac.uk, and we will take you through the options you have for your first jump!
What are the risks?
Lower than you might think!
Kingston University Skydiving is proud to maintain a record of 0 injuries from skydiving (ok, we had 1 broken nail, but that doesn’t count). This is a record we are not keen to lose!
Unfortunately skydiving suffers from far reaching misconceptions mostly due to unrealistic portrayals in movies and sensationalist reporting.
Statistically, you are more likely to be injured or killed during a drive to work than you are whilst skydiving.
What are the benefits?
It looks great on your CV (it shows you are willing to take calculated risks and that you have a social life)!
You’ll have a fantastic conversation piece!
It’s not only a life changing experience, it alters your entire perspective on the world.
It’s much cheaper than going on your own! We get amazing discounts which guarantee you make the money you spent on your membership back if you choose to jump with Kingston University Skydiving.
How much will it cost?
If you have a Sports Card, joining the club costs £5. If you don’t, it costs £35. As I say, if you choose to jump with Kingston University Skydiving you’re guaranteed to make that money back with your first jump (yes, £35).
It’s always the case that as a skydiver, your first jump is the most expensive. Kingston University Skydiving has managed to get you a phenomenal deal though.
Your first 5 jumps for just £230. That’s less than £50 per jump!
That works out as a £95 saving compared with going on your own.
If you want to go for a different deal, you’re looking at paying almost the same amount (or more) and getting just 1 jump!
Experienced skydivers can jump from just £19 per jump.
Health Issues
It is very rare for a medical condition to completely forbid you from jumping. If you have a medical condition, which you think may affect your ability to jump, please send us an e-mail and we will tell you what the guidelines are. In most cases, all that is required is a doctor’s certificate.
If you weigh over 16 stone, or are more than 40 years old, we request you inform us so we are able to make your jump run as smoothly as possible.
