THE BENTALL CENTRE GOES PRIMEVAL THIS WEEKEND

The much anticipated second series of the hit ITV show, Primeval, has finally arrived and will broadcast this Saturday, January 12 at 7pm, with The Bentall Centre as the setting for the first episode.

After three raptors are drawn into the Centre by the warmth of the mall’s air conditioning and the smell of Kingston’s shoppers, the Primeval team are brought in to restore order – but not before carrying out various dangerous pursuits throughout the Centre.

The filming took place in July 2007 after the producers of the show were so impressed with the atrium that they actually changed the script to fit in an exciting chase, involving the prehistoric creatures and a speeding motorcycle rider, through the Centre. After several nights of filming, the end result is enough to make even the most hardened of shoppers look over their shoulder during their January bargain hunting.

Bob Ritchie, Centre Director and huge Primeval fan comments: “I am thrilled that show is finally here and I can’t wait to see what they have done with the Centre.  It is very exciting for both the team here and for the Kingston community to see the familiar surroundings of the Centre on television.  I’ve been promised that it really is ‘edge of your seat’ viewing so let’s see what the second series brings.”
