Hampton Court Palace
Historic Royal Palaces is an independent charity which looks after Hampton Court Palace.  The organisation does not receive funding from the Government or the Crown and therefore relies on support from visitors, members, sponsors and volunteers. The Palace is over 500 years old and is set in exquisite gardens on the banks of the River Thames. The charity’s aim is to help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society, in some of the greatest palaces ever built. Volunteers play a significant role at Hampton Court providing links between the palace, visitors and local community. The aim of everyone involved with Hampton Court is to help preserve the past for the future. The volunteers will assist visitors by pointing out key places to visit - would they like to visit the Tudor kitchens, the gardens or the King's apartments? Or visitors may just need directions or audio equipment.  However you get involved, you will be helping to enrich the visitors’ experience of the stories, romance, intrigue and legend of this wonderful place. MeWe
We have some fantastic opportunities with this locally based organisation that celebrates the African and Afro-Caribbean culture to educate young people through drama, dance and music in helping to foster a community spirit . Could you write a play, direct or take part in designing scenery? On the education side could you lead a workshop, or teach English or help 16-19 year olds with their homework. None of these interest you so how about taking part in the performing arts by singing, dancing or acting. Interested Contact  Alex

Refugee Action Kingston
Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) provides free advice and information on a number of issues, including immigration, benefit, housing, education, training, health and other issues.  RAK whilst supporting the refugees encourages their independence, enabling them to settle and lead fulfilling independent lives.
Opportunities exist at RAK’s day centre on Wednesdays and Fridays. This could include helping to serve lunches, playing with the children, doing arts and crafts, and    helping with English, IT and exercise classes.  There is  always the chance to talk and socialise with the refugee families. Volunteers are also needed to help at the crèche and they also have a befriending and mentoring scheme. There are regular opportunities to get involved in one-off projects with RAK - helping at their clothing  collection days throughout the year and with the Christmas party.
