The Governance of your Students' Union
How can the union best represent students? The answer is simple; students run the union. The union is run democratically with 4 full time elected officers and 14 part-time elected officers being elected by the students annually. Elections take place in March each year and all Kingston students are eligible to run for a position. The 4 full time elected officers occupy paid positions in the Union and are always on hand to offer students any help they may need. The part-time positions allow students to represent their peers whilst continuing their studies.
The students union Annual General Meeting will occur on November 11th in the Clattern lecture Theatre, Penrhyn Road . This is a chance for students to get involved with the Unions democratic process and a potential opportunity to change or set union policies that could affect the way things are done at Kingston University.
To ensure that it is run democratically KUSU adhere to a constitution. The constitution lays out how we operate; it contains the structure of the Union, the roles of our four Sabbatical Officers, and how our Annual General Meeting and other meetings work.
A copy of KUSUs constitution can be found here.

The Student Union also adhere to a policy book; policies are set by the student body at the Annual or Termly General Meeting and remain in place for 3 years.
There are many ways that students can feedback into the Union to make changes. Please see the diagram below of KUSUs representative structure which shows how we listen and feedback to the student body in order to represent you!
